The Chiltern Model Railway Association will once again be holding its modellers' workshop in 2008. Under the promotional name of TIME - Totally Interactive Modelling Event - the workshop involves modellers who belong to member organisations of the CMRA, presenting and demonstrating items of modelling interest to colleagues in a relaxed atmosphere, away from exhibition constraints.

The event will also incorporate films, talks, discussions and practical demonstrations, some by leading figures in the railway modelling hobby. So far this year we have:

  • Ron Bailes - long serving railwayman, recounting his time on the "Trains"

  • Ian Futers - on Scottish Railways

  • Michael Watts - imparting knowledge on his form of baseboard construction

  • Christopher Payne - on small layout design

  • Gordon & Maggie Gravett - on their layout "Pempoul - Réseau Breton"

  • Ron North - with his backscene studio

Trade attending will include John Dutfield Model Railways, Freestone Modelling Accessories, Modellers Mate & Ceynix Railway Trees who will also be demonstrating the making of model trees. We will also have the infamous C.M.R.A. Member's Sales second-hand stand.

TIME 2005

So if you belong to one of our member organisations, even one of the national ones supporting a specific scale, why not come along? It is one of those pleasant opportunities to talk, listen, learn and pass on your ideas to like minded modellers, indeed all participants are encouraged to reserve table space so as to bring along their models and share their experiences.

Admission includes tea, coffee and an excellent buffet lunch - what more could you ask for?

Cost per ticket is £7.50 (which includes the buffet lunch)

Tickets are available strictly in advance from either
the Association Chairman or Secretary - see Contacts & Links page.

Due to the nature of the event there will be no admission on the day without a pre-booked ticket.
